BILLS! BILLS! BILLS!

I ran alot of errands and paid aLOT of BILLS today! Yes, with growing up comes the ever-growing bills! And they never stop from growinggggggg! Ha!Ha!

I started my day early and went to City Hall to pay my Real Property tax. Sounds so mature, right? LOL. Good thing I was number 1071 so I really didn't have to wait long for my turn.

After City Hall, I went to the bank to pay my monthly amortization for my 30-sq. meters of heaven. And then I paid for my insurance and my electricity bill too! Whew! WTF ever happened to Meralco?! My bill doubled since this March! I hate SUMMER errrr or should I say I hate Meralco!?

I feel like such a responsible adult today. No matter how tired I was feeling, no matter how hot the sun was shining this morning,  I felt good and fuzzy inside.

I loved playing house when I was little, but it's more fulfilling to play house now that I have my own 'house' (well it's not really a house, y'know! It's more like a unit or flat or whatever shit you call this 30-sq. meters of awesomeness).  And because I paid alot of bills today, I promised myself not to go out this weekend so I can save whatever little money I have left. I don't shit money after all, you know! Hahaha!

Who wants to play house with me this weekend?

P.S.: I saw these ballot boxes on my way out of City Hall and I felt like I just need to remind you guys to VOTE WISELY!

I'M AN EGG-EATER!

I love eating eggs! I want them salty and oily (and not hairy please)! Hahaha!

But wait, it's not the kind of egg that you are thinking of, you silly you! I woke up early today, as in 5AM early. I was asleep for more than 12 hours that I haven't had the chance to eat dinner. SO you can just imagine how hungry I was when I woke up this morning. Since it was still early and I was still a bit lazy to cook, I raided my ref for something that's breakfast-worthy and can be had without cooking.

Hmmmmm, there's potatos, carrots, some green leafy veggie which I don't know what it's called, pork, a pack of mixed veggies, a pack of corn kernels and a few pieces of salted eggs (or popularly known as "Itlog na Pula").

Thank God for salted eggs! It saved my day! :) At least all I had to do was to pair these eggs with my left-over rice from yesterday and voila, my hunger worries were solved.  Every household should have at least a few stash of these lovely eggs in their shelf.  It's the ultimate food to eat especially when you pair it with tomatoes and vinegar! Yum yum yum!

Since we are already in the discussion of these yummy eggs, another one of my fave is the 'Balut' or popularly known as the 'Baluuuuuuuut'! LOL! A balut is a fertilized duck (or chicken) egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell.  Sounds 'Fear Factor'-ish? Of course not! Almost every Filipino have eaten Baluts at one point in their lives. And  I am sure that most foreigners who went here in the country also have their Balut stories to share. Hehehe.

Others find their Balut experience appetizing while some find it traumatizing. Well, to each his own. As for me, I like to eat it with salt and vinegar. And mind you, unlike some who just eat the yellow part and throw away the embryo, I devour everything! Yum! (Excluding the shell, of course. LOL)

Do you have a Balut story you want to share?

The Unpure Egg-Buster,

P.S.: I tried eating adobong Balut once but I didn't like it.

Hey! Hey!

Hey there! My internet at home's busted so I am just getting illegal wifi from the office. Lol! Kidding. I haven't posted for the longest time because on top of my crappy connection at home, I've been down with the flu the past couple of days! Ugh!

I miss blogging. I am so bored at home that it makes me want to eat my own hair. Hahaha! I've just been eating (mostly in bed)and sleeping the past few days. With the internet gone, my only source of entertainment is cable tv. Lol. I am a NatGeo junkie! It takes up 50% of my TV time. The rest is split among teeny-bopper romance dramas,Tagalog teleseryes and Wowowee! Hahaha! Yes, I love watching that infamous noontime show!

My internet connection will be fixed this weekend. Until then, I'll have these shows give me temporary amusement. Have a pleasant day everyone!

Lube The Tube!

I woke up at 3am today and was busy cramming for my take-home final exams in Cost Accounting when I suddenly got bored and felt like I need to take a break.  After all, you will agree with me that debit-credit and doing journal/ledger entries are way tooooo boring, right?

I was blog-hopping in the early morn and stumbled upon this really funny blog

Now who's guy in his right frame of mind would use this latex lovelies to yank his yoyo?!?! FTW! This picture had me forming several questions in mind:

1. Is this re-usable? Or is this for one-time use only (like condoms)?
2. Is this for right-hand or left-hand use?  Cuz I know of guys who are ambidextrous when it comes to humping their hoses.. Hahaha!
3. Is this free size?

Okay, enough of this crap. Now back to my debit-credit shit. =D

My 1st Blogger's Event

I started blogging last December 2009 and joined this beautiful community composed of equally talented and uber-friendly bloggers that is Nuffnang! :) They held a contest sponsored by GlutaMax last February - well, the rule of the contest is that you should write about your own personal transformation in your blog. I wrote up mine in the hopes of winning that much-coveted Apple MacBook Pro! (Refer to this link)

Fast forward to 1st week of April, I got an email from Nuffnang inviting me to the GlutaMax awards night happening at Eastwood City. You can just imagine how thrilled I was to attend my 1st ever blog event.  It was held on a Wednesday and all of my friends had work the following day so I didn't have a +1 that night.

The invitation was at 6pm so I got there a few minutes before 6.  There were only a handful of people the moment that I arrived and it was only around 6:30pm that people started pouring in.  There were a lot of bloggers present that night as well as people from the media.

The program started a little before 7 and the hosts that night were Mojo Jojo and Suzi from 89.9.

They served pastries and hors d’oeuvres courtesy of Delifrance and Old Vine.

(thanks to justanotherpixel.net for taking my picture)

Nyoy Volante was present that night to serenade all of  us.

They flashed the pictures of all the contestants on the big screen. There were 39 entries in total and mine was entry # 25.

(sorry for the quality of the pictures. The cam was acting up that night)

Though I didn't snag the MacBook Pro (DAMN!!!), my 1st ever Blogger's event was fun! I made new friends, ate a lot of paninis, drank a lot of iced tea.. and in the end, it was all worth it! LOL!

[Special thanks to Carlos Palma and Anne Franco from Nuffnang who were very warm and accomodating that night.]
