Weekend Tales : La Luz Beach Resort (Batangas)

Here's a blow by blow account of our early summer get-away in La Luz two weekends ago. I went there with NimmyLeo, and 3 of our other friends.

We got to the resort around noon but since we didnt make an online reservation, we were told that the rooms that were good for groups of six were already taken. Sigh. So since we were already there and we didnt want to sleep in the sand (ahhahaha), we just took the bigger room - big enough for 10 people. It is called the Premiere Loft (rate: P4,300/night). There were 2 beds in the 1st floor and 3 beds in the loft.

[Picture c/o Nimmy]

They require people who stay overnight to avail of the buffet meals which include lunch upon arrival, merienda, dinner and breakfast the following morning (rate: P1,100/head). The place wasn't too crowded when we were there. Thank goodness! I got a good dose of what I came there for - peace, serenity and tranquility! (with a little bit of boy-watching on the side)

When evening came, we went to the dining area to have dinner and the view of the moon was majestic. Lovettttt! Dinner by the beach, sarappppp!

After dinner, we went to the beach and hung out. Chichirya, Tanduay Ice and good company completed the repertoire!

Para kong e-ebs sa upo ko, LOL! At si Nimmy, sya na! Sya na ang nakatalukbong! Haha!

We woke up early the following day so we can have enough time to swim before the sun was at its brightest.

Syempre may net pa akong cover kase ganun talaga pag "dalagang Filipina"! Hahaha!

La Luz is situated at the farthest end of the shoreline so the beach was a bit rocky. It's best to wear acqua shoes when you are walking by the beach.

Hahahaha!

I was sooo amazed because there were fishes that were swimming in the shallow part of the water. Parang nanunuod lang ako ng Aquarium Channel! Hehe! Madaming fishes here and there, thank goodness at walang piranha! =)

We left the resort after lunch. It was a good weekend spent with my close friends! Lovetttttttt!

K : "Kuhanan mo ko ng picture, kunware nagsasunbathing ako tapos ndi ko alam na pinipicturan moko."

HA HA HA HA.

Wishing everyone a beautiful summer escapade! XoXo.

Simple Pero Rock!

I'm a very simple girl with very simple dreams. I dress in simple clothes, I don't put on too much make-up. I wear just a hint of perfume. Simple things make me happy.

I am simplicity personified.

I am not a big fan of commercials but when I saw this tonight on TV, I instantly loved it! It's simple yet the message it wants to convey hits right home. It's super cute! I liket!

If you haven't watched the Coffeemate commercial yet, see the vid below. :)

Have a good week everyone!

Weekend Tales : GAYUMA NI MARIA

I was having a rough day yesterday. I had a stressful week at work and things in the personal front were a bit shaky yesterday. I didn't have dinner the night before and I skipped breakfast yesterday so you can just imagine how hungry I was come lunchtime.

I was in a foul mood and you know how good food can alter your mood, right? And that's when I decided that I wanted to try out GAYUMA NI MARIA. I've heard good reviews about the place. They were originally located in Xavierville but after it got burned down, they moved to a new location near UP Village.

So I hauled my ass over to Maginhawa street. I texted the owner before I went there and she was accomodating enough to give me directions (plus chow points in my book, hehe). I asked if I needed to make reservations prior to going there and she told me that they have enough tables that day to accomodate my lonesome, sexy self. LOL!

This is what will greet you --

And a painting of this boy

And you will also see what's on today's menu --

Menu for the day - Country Side Fling and Size Doesn't Matter... (say what?!?! Haha)

I like going to places that are not too commercialized. I'm a simple girl and I like going to places that doesn't have too much pizzaz. There's beauty in simplicity and Gayuma ni Maria is so much like that. I like that they don't have big, fancy interiors. And it's cute that they have mismatched chairs. It's cute and quirky.

Simple, dainty interiors ala-bread and breakfast... Hehe!

Aside from food, they also sell coffee beans and sex toys! Haha! I like! :)

Okay enough about the interiors, I didn't go there just for that. Haha! Let's get down to business. I ordered appetizer first and because me and the bf started eating healthy for the past two weeks, I can't get myself to order pork or beef. Hehe. Baet ko no? I ordered fish instead.

Kala Ni Mare - P 120
GAYUMATIZED Calamares with jellied littuco (rattan) fruit

I didn't wait that long for the appetizer to arrive. It was served hot and crispy, just the way I liketttt! Aprub! :) They could've just improved the sauce a little bit. It's too sweet for my taste so they could've opted for a sauce with a slightly salty and sour punch. But over all, the calamares was malambot. Purrrfect! Haha!

And then came the main dish. The one I originally ordered wasn't available that day so I ordered the next striking dish in the menu - it's called Once You Go Black, You Never Go Back! Cute name for a dish, right? Very catchy!

Once You Go Black, You Never Go Back - P 225
Cocoa-crusted Cream dory with Chocolate Sauce - you'll never want to eat fish any other way

Because I wasn't feeling particularly jovial and adventuruous that day, I didn't enjoy this dish so much. I didn't feel like chocolate sauce should go with the cream dory. It just doesn't jive! So much like your little sister shouldn't go out with your older brother's barkada. Ganung feeling. It's just taboo! Noooooo! Hahahaha!

The fish was moist and tender and the rice also smelled good. Yes, I am very particular with my rice. I love rice (more than anything that's important in this world. Hahahaha!). I think I would've enjoyed this dish had I not come there in my gloomy, f*cked up mood. If I can only talk to the dish, I'd prolly say "It's not you, it's me". Hahahaha! Relasyon lang. LOL.

Now let's talk about dessert. I asked for the menu again to check for sweet treats and I was caught off guard by the name of their famous dessert - BEATS SEX ANYDAY! Wow. So this dessert is better than sex? What? How? Why? It cannot be!!!!! I had all these questions running through my head, I just have to try it.

Beats Sex Anyday - P 75
Rich chocolate cake mercilessly topped with butterscotch, cream and chocolate bits

Did I feel like it lived up to its name? Hmmmmm. Welllllll... Uhmmmmm... It's hard to decide. Hahahahaha! But one thing's definitely fo' sure, this one is BEST WITH SEX! Hahahahahaha! :)

I make good food reviews, yes? Funny and at the same time informative right? Right? Right? Okay, good. Not your usual kind of boring, in your face reviews, diba? Hahaha. Kapal.

Here's a couple of more shots of the resto -

You can eat in the counter. Parang bahay lang talaga. Cute!

This door will lead you to the second floor

The next time I come back, I would want to sit in this area sa 2nd floor.
I wana have dinner while sitting on the banig and Moonriver's playing in the background!
So cheezyyyyy I likettttt!

Restroom's biggg and clean. Plus points for me. And they have tissue paper! Yeyyy! Hahaha!

I will definitely go back to GAYUMA Ni Maria. We have a lot of unsettled issues. Haha!  I will go back when I'm in a good mood so I won't have to take up all my angst on their dishes. :)

You should try this out too! Be bewitchingly captivated at GAYUMA Ni Maria.

From C5, take the Katipunan route then turn left on C.P. Garcia (across Dela Strada) then turn left at the intersection leading to Maginhawa St. (Krus na Ligas). On Maginhawa, turn left. GAYUMA ni Maria will come up on your right side after Bayantel.

Weekend Tales : Singapore Chicken Rice

Remember my post a couple of weeks back when I was asking for restos that serve the best Chicken Rice? Well, I got a lot of replies saying that there's this place in Cubao that serves authentic Singapore dishes. So one fine Sunday afternoon, the bf and I trooped to Cubao to try it.

We both ordered the Hainanese Chicken Rice. They serve it with ginger and chili sauce with pickled veggies on the side. Yum! The rice is packed with flavor. The chicken broth they used to flavor the rice and the chicken meat is just right.

Chicken Rice

For P95, you will really get your money's worth. It's not fine grade but if you are craving for something close to the Chicken rice in Singapura, then this one can definitely give you your fix.

Laksa

We also tried the Laksa. If you are a big fan of spicy food, then you will really like this. But be sure to have a glass of water or soda nearby. Hehe! Super anghang talaga, pramis! :) Don't tell me I didn't warn you!

I have a lot of posts in my draft that I have yet to publish, so stay tuned!

How about you, how'd your week go? Any interesting restos you've tried that you want to share?

The Original Singapore Chicken Rice is located at Unit 51 Shopwise Building, Araneta Center, Cubao. They are open until 12mn.

14 Day Challenge: Mystery Shampoo and Conditioner

I have always worn my hair long, well not exactly long long, but almost bra-line long. LOL. Over the years, my hair has been subjected to different treatments - rebonding, curling, hair coloring and all other hair shitz. Hehe. I wasn't born with straight, shiny, flowing mane so I have to resort to these. I believe in the saying "If you aren't born with it, then do something about it!". Hahaha! In the process, my hair has become dry and frizzy. TSK TSK TSK!

My Unpure 'do over the years. (Bangs, No Bangs, Curly, Side-swept Bangs and Bang Me hairstyle. Hahaha!)

I was having a very stressful week at work. Yes, because it's month-end once again. Lots of things to complete for the month and a couple of work-related trainings that I need to conduct. Oh, the things that we do to pay the bills! Ha!

So anyway, getting this package in the mail this week was a welcome treat!

Procter and Gamble? Hmmmm... What could this possibly be? I then began enumerating P&G brands in my head:

- Are they sending me a pack of Safeguard or Mr. Clean? How could they have known that I don't shower everyday? Haha!
- Or maybe they sent me Oral B dental care products because they know I don't brush my tits, errr teeth often?
- Or or or maybe there's a pack of Eukanuba inside? Because they know how much of a junk food muncher I am. Hahaha!

Mystery in a Bottle

Mystery Shampoo and Conditioner

I loooove mysteries. So when I got this Mystery pack, I can't help but feel nostalgic about my younger years when I used to read Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew paperbacks. Hehehe!

14-Day Challenge

There's this 14-Day Challenge happening all over lovely Manille. Celebs, bloggers, your neighborhood chismosa (hahaha), that cute Starbs barista, almost everyone are in on this 14-Day Challenge. I will wait it out for a couple of days before I give my review but one thing I can tell you as early as now, the shampoo smelllsssss abso-freaking-lutely awesome!

Hope everyone's having a very laid-back weekend!

The Unpure One,

P.S. The Big Reveal about this Mystery Shampoo and Conditioner and the 14-Day Challenge will unravel tomorrow in Channel 2's noontime show ASAP :-)

All roads lead to SM Megamall for NestlĂ© Philippines'  I CHOOSE WELLNESS EXPO. The Event

The expo runs from July 3 and 4. I went there on the first day and man, the place was packed to the brim! It was a good thing that the event was well-organized and that people were let in by batches. Entrance was free and it was nice to see people from all walks of life attending the event.

The Booths

Did I tell you that I loooove freebies? OMG, I think I just had a freebie-overload that day. Hahaha! Almost all the major brands of NestlĂ© Philippines participated in the event.

They have games for kids.

Not to be outdone, they also have activities lined up for the kids-at-heart!

I had a fun time watching this old lady dance to the hula! Crazeeee!

Cooking Demo! Yum-yum!

Laki sa Gatas! Laking BearBrand ako! Hahaha

Ito lang ang Nestle product na ndi ko tinikman! LOL!

The Main Event

There were lots of nice-looking people in the expo. If drinking/eating Nestle products will make me this pretty and sexy, boy, I'd say bring it on! LOL! :) Feast your eyes out, my unpure friends.

She's such a cutie, I love her! (from the Fruit Selection Yogurt booth)

Let's talk about SEX errrr SIX!

Today marks the 6th month of my blog!

Yay! I was never the 'monthsary' type of girl even when I was still in a relationship. I believe that milestones should be measured in years, not months. But hey, this ain't a relationship, this is BLOGGING - pure, unadulterated blogging!!!! And it's not easy to think of ideas every now and then, mind you.

I started this blog because I was bored one fine evening six months ago and I just wanted to have a venue where I can write my thoughts - sometimes perverse, sometimes emotional, most of the time blah but nevertheless 100% real.

I am no writer. I don't make sense sometimes (okay, correction: most of the time). My English is comprehensible but flawed. I sometimes get confused about my subject-verb agreements and my tenses. Haha! But regardless of these things, it is my passion to write and to share my thoughts that has made me rise above it all.

I have met people because of this blog. I have forged friendships with some and have been social acquiantances (see I cant even spell it right! Haha) with the rest. I love that I learn new things from these people, new words (soliloquy and superfluous are at the top of the list! LOL), new catch phrases. And I can only hope that my unpure thoughts have also made their lives, your lives, happier, hotter and sleazier. Haha! Can't help it.

Please keep the emails and the comments coming because I learn a lot from you as much as you learn a lot from me and my twisted, unpure life. From the bottom of my unpure heart, thank you! :)

Cheers to more unpure articles! Happy 6th month-sary to me!

Six fcuks, errr pack pala,  for my 6th month! Kampay! *hahahaha*

Thank you BPI

I love online banking because it gives me the flexibility to access my account, transfer funds and pay my bills no matter where I am. I have always been a loyal BPI customer ever since I started working. I got introduced to BPI's online banking system a couple of years back and I can say that everything has been a breeze.

Two days ago, I was transferring funds online and right in the middle of the transaction,  I received a "Page Cannot Be Displayed" message. Hmmmmm. It hasn't happened to me before but knowing how reliable BPI's service is, I didn't worry about it. When I checked the source account, the amount has already been debited but when I checked the recipient account, the money's not there. WTF? Where'd it go?

I immediately called BPI's 89-100 line and advised them of what just happened. The representative was apologetic and she said that she's going to make a report of the matter and told me to wait for a response within 2 days. A day after I called them, I received a call from a BPI representative saying that they have already fixed the problem and I was told to check my account to make sure that the money's there. And it was.

I just want to spread word out about their efficient customer service. Thank you BPI! =)

The Unpure One,

P.S. I am getting hits from bpi.com.ph, so thank you to everyone at BPI for reading my blog! Hehehe!

My Unpure Pick of the Week: Peppermint Spa

I really don't like getting home-service massages because I live alone and I don't want strangers getting inside my unit. I don't watch the news everyday but in the few occasions that I do, all I see are robberies, and murders and rapes. (I don't mind the rape, but the first two, wow. Hahaha, kidding.) So I'm wary about having strangers around.

Good thing my friend opened Peppermint (Home-Service) Spa just a couple of months ago. I had a very busy week at work so I decided to get a massage last Friday. I was too lazy to go out so I called my friend and scheduled for a 9AM appointment. They normally don't service that early, but hey, I'm chummies with the owner remember. LOL.

I initially wanted a good-looking, nice-smelling male therapist (Just Kidding! But jokes are half-meant right?) but my friend told me all they have are females. Phew. Such a let-down! Hahahaha!

The masseuse did a good job in soothing my aching muscles. I don't like getting a hard massage because my frail body can't take all that pressure. I just want a good and light rubdown. I told that to the masseuse and that was exactly what I got! Heaven! (Masarap yung papindot, pindot lang eh! *laugh* )

Since it was a 'pamper-myself' day, I also had a mani-pedi after the massage. Yay! It was a good way to start my weekend.

Peppermint Spa caters to people in the QC, Ortigas, Greenhills and Makati area. Just call them a few hours or a day in advance. The rate's super cheap so I suggest you try them out. Now na! And may I suggest you ask for Angie. That woman's good. Don't ask for extra-service though if you don't want to end up with a broken nose. LOL.

Hope everyone's having a blast this longggg weekend! :)

When One Tongue Just Isn't Enough!

I have been love-less for a couple of months now and as much as I would like to be more frisky and adventurous and do random bed-hoppings, I find that my unpure soul is not so un-pure after all. LOL. I am the modern-day prudish whore. (You know, the all-bark-no-bite type.) Hehehehe! So, what to do in times when you need to scratch your itch?

Hold on to your seats, all you single ladies out there. The best is yet to cum errrrr come! =P

Let me introduce you to the......

*Drumrolls please*

Squeal with the SQWEEL

Sqweel Wheel. Yes, you read it right! It sounds very Cirque de Soleil I know but it's not as complicated and circus-y as you think it is. This is a rotating toy made up of soft silicone flappers that is reminiscent to that of a human tongue! Just when you thought one tongue is enough, this lovely toy is composed of 10 (yes, you read that right! T-e-n) rotating tongues! Hitmewithyourbestshot! Hehehe!

The Design : Looks like a fan (for your fanny)

"It feels so human, it's almost eerie."

 How to Use the SQWEEL

You just need three AAA batteries to get this thing going. It comes in three speed modes: slow, mid and hhhhhiiigggghhhh! Hehehe! This is cunnilingus at its finest. LOL! (Of course nothing beats the real thing, I know I know. But when the real thing is not available, then this can be considered as the next best thing.)

Is there a kind soul out there who can give me a SQWEEL this Christmas?

L.O.L.

I can't stop laughing.

The Unpure Squealer,

-=K=-

P.S. - The Sqweel is meant to be use on a woman's vajayjay and all other erogenous zones like the nips, the neck, etc. PLEASE DO NOT USE IT INSIDE THE ANUS! Just a friendly reminder. L.O.L!
