Hello There.

Hi blog.. It's been three years since my last post. Alot of things have changed since then.

So what happened to me in those three years? Hmmmm.. I got a haircut, got my hair colored, i loved, i got my heart broken, dated a few men, bonded with friends, kept in constant touch with my family, learned how to drive, got promoted at work, got assigned to a provincial site, got a car, sold a car, bought another car, learned alot about leadership, got an acquarium, i exercised, tried to start a diet a few times but failed, tried to go back to blogging but failed, went on awesome foodie adventures, drank, got sober, made new friends, kept in touch with friends from way back, disconnected myself from toxic people, went to the beach, walked along the edge of a 33storey building, discovered myself, resigned from work, got out of my comfort zone, fell in love, learned how to cook ox tongue.

ALOT OF THINGS HAVE CHANGED. And I want to start this blog once again to chronicle my journey.

Welcome to me! :)

Great

This year has been nothing short of excellent. I'm at a point in my life where I am exactly where I want to be. Everything 's turning out good that I'm starting to get scared that I'll do one stupid thing and mess it all up.

But I think being scared is a good thing. It keeps me grounded. It reminds me that I am not invincible. I still crack under pressure. But honestly, I like it. I like being challenged. I like being pushed beyond my abilities.

It's been a great year and I can't thank the heavens enough.

Keep safe and dry people! :)

Oil, Coffee and Constancy

Yesterday was my mom's birthday so my siblings and I prepared a hearty lunch at home for mom. Had a very fun bonding time with the entire family. Hayyyy, sarap talaga to gather everyone together and just spend it catching up on each other's lives and kulitan with the bulilits.

I really treasure moments spent with my family.

I ate alot during the party that I was craving to end the day with a yummy dessert to cleanse my palate from oil and grease.

The party ended close to midnight but it's a good thing that I was still able to squeeze a dessert and coffee date with someone.  Our original plan was to go to Podium to have coffee and milk at Borough's. But since we were both from QC,  we tried driving around the Timog and West Ave. area and we chanced upon this 24hours coffee shop. The cake we ordered tasted like chalk and the coffee seemed like it was brewed out of rubber. Blech! Haha. But I still had a great night because I was with good company. After that, we had a massage. Twas soooo good that I fell asleep halfway through it. Nagising nalang ako nung tapos na. Hehe. Twas a great way to cap the weekend.

You know how sometimes you get attracted to a person because he reminds you of someone from your past?

Not that I'm not yet over my ex. And don't get me wrong because I am not superficial. Just so happened that this ex was gwapo and nice and this guy I went out with is like a better version of him. Parang iphone - the ex was an iphone4 and this guy's like an iphone4s. Hahahahaha! But anyway, as much as we like spending time together, he's due to go abroad for work so our happy days are numbered. Oh well.

I've been single for quite awhile and am pretty set in my ways pero there are times when I miss having a constant presence in my life. I have a good career that I'm really thankful for but I have moments when I'm so stressed with work that I just want to end the day with a warm hug and good conversation over dinner. And I just want to do it with one special person.

I go out on dates with good men, don't get me wrong (I really have to put this disclaimer just in case one of them finds their way to my blog, haha!). But sometimes I just want to see a constant face amongst the sea of faces. A constant presence. Although I'm a modern woman and I like exploring my options, my inner-Maria Clara is screaming and is looking to settle for just one. The right one. The only one.

I pray and ask God to grant me my most fervent wishes but a great lovelife isn't one of them. Parang feeling ko I would really sound so selfish if I do that because he he has already gifted me with a loving family, great friends and a good career. Asking for a lovelife would be overkill. Lol!

I'm having a really weird day today. It's been such a long time since I've bared my soul in this blog. Anyway, maybe I'm just PMS-ing.

Work-life Balance

Things at work has been reaalllyyyy crazy the past few weeks. We launched a couple of new projects plus I hired four additional people to join my team.

So the past few weeks have been nothing but training and mentoring and coaching and adjusting. I feel like I'm their work mom. Haha! Challenging pala maging nanay sa maraming anak. Lol!

To break the monotony of our never-ending work and reports and quotas and analysis, I treated my team to dinner last night. We just ate and laughed and we talked about other things aside from work. Yehey! Kakarelax!

I had a major food binge din last Saturday plus I had a massage to prepare me for another work week. Weekend is still 2 days awayyyyyy. I cannot wait for this week to end so I can catch up on my e-Books!

Hope everyone's having a productive week!!!

Punit

I had a very good day. It started this afternoon when I had lunch with my family to celebrate Father's Day. My mom really makes an effort to prepare home-cooked meals during Sunday gatherings. But because it was Father's Day, she just decided to order food. Andameng food na naorder that we ate it for lunch and then the left-over we ate for dinner. Haha!

I spent the day bonding with my siblings, pamangkins and parents. My brother recently got promoted so everyone was happy and proud of him. I like how we all support each other. Nakakaaliw to be in a family where they treat your success as their success. My dad was a bit worried because super payat ko daw. Oh well, pressure from work plus lots of puyat really took a toll on me. But what can I do. Ganun talaga, hehe. My dad kept on telling me to eat more.

It was raining like crazy by the time we decided to go home. I have dinner plans with someone so when my brother learned that I will go to Morato, he insisted to drive for me. Sweet no? Maybe because it was really raining hard plus naawa sya kasi punit punit yung suot kong shorts. Haha!

When I was about to go down the car, my brother told me "Take care my little sis, alright?". Awwwww, too cute! Eventhoug Im old as a carabao, my family still sees me as a little girl. Cute beyond words!!!!

Dinner with my friend went great. Getting-to-know conversations are always fun! Ive sworn off dating after my last relationship. Maybe because Ive become more cautious and more guarded of my emotions. Pero lately, I'm back in the dating scene. Meeting new friends.. Going out with interesting people. I'm having a great time. :)

It's nice to feel appreciated and treated like you're the most beautiful person in the world. Lol! Cheesy. Haha. Dinners out, late-night conversations, telebabad to the max after spending the whole day together. Haha. I feel like I'm in highschool again. Lol!!!!!

Dating is fun because it opens a world of possibilities. I just wish that whoever I'll end up with will be as caring and as sweet as my daddy and brother. Wishful thinking! Hahaha!

Call me, maybe?

Lol! Arte!

Have a great start of the week, everyone!!!!

Comic Relief

I am super swamped with work this week. Haha! I know I say that alot but this is really a busier week than usual. I have to finish my team's scorecard, complete a presentation for my Operations director and senior manager and complete a Business Review for my Program Director. On top of that I have trainings, synergy sessions and meetings to attend to.

It's times like this when I need to get really pumped up. Bawal ang mabagal at patanga-tanga, hahaha! I was browsing the web awhile ago because I wanted to relax my mind for a little bit and I stumbled on this picture. It made me laugh so hard that I thought it best to share. :))

I hope you are all having a busy and productive week ahead!

Okay, my break time's up. Have to get back to work.

Sunday's Best

Had lunch with the family to celebrate mother's day. It was a good day filled with lots of laughter and playful banter. I love spending time with family, especially my pamangkins. :) i like to joke around with them and tease them. They are adorable. They greeted me today too. They call it "Happy Tita's Day". Hehe, such sweet monsters.

Plus, I received a text from an old flame - "Happy Mother's day to you because I know you'd be a great mom someday!". Cute. :)

Someday.

Blessings, stress, dryspell

I have days when I'm so swamped with meetings and reports that I hardly have time to comb my hair or eat my lunch.  But on the other hand, I still feel blessed that there are people who trust me and my capabilities to hand me a responsibilty as big as what I'm doing.

When my stress-level is at its peak, I go to the restroom and just sit inside a cubicle for 5mins to breathe and relax. It really helps! Haha!

I need oxytocin (and endorphines) to calm my nerves. But since I cannot get it thru other means (hahaha), i'll just eat chocolates. Anyway, chocolates help release the happy hormones. So it is a good alternative, right?

Lol.

Alone time

My friends and I were planning to go out last night but they bailed on me at the last minute. Since my mind's already conditioned to party, I still decided to go ahead with the plan. But this time, I just went alone.

I was silently praying that no weirdos will make a pass at me. Haha kapal. Lol! So anyway, I went to this bar in Makati and fortunately, wala namang mukhang serial killer. Haha. I am a solitary creature so I really dont feel uncomfortable going out by my lonesome. In fact, I had a great time. It's nice to watch how people interact.

Around 2am, I ended up talking to this group of friends. They were a little older than me. We talked about work, life and relationships. It was good. It's refreshing to meet new people.

We had such a great time that we decided to meet again tomorrow for brunch. I might invite some of my friends to join me. The more, the many-er. Haha!

I hope everyone's having a great weekend!

Watdafuq?

Month-ends and month-end audits are the most stressful days for me. Since April has just gone by, I decided to ask the girls from my team to have a spa bonding time with me.

We all deserve a good massage after surviving a very grueling month. So off we went to this new massage place near my house and there was a poster there that had us laughing like idiots. Nakakaloka! :)

Boracay Day 3

On the 3rd day, I checked myself in at Shangrila Boracay. Since I cannot afford to stay there for the entire duration of my vacay, I opted to stay even for just one night to experience just how wonderful their place and service is.

Sundo-hatid ka everywhere ng buggy, it's a haven for people who are too lazy to walk. Lol! I partied at one of the villas come nighttime. Again, I had too much cranberry + vodka. Sarap! Went back to my room around 3am and then slept until 10am the next day. Twas a good thing I still made it in time for the breakfast buffet.

When it was time to check-out, they have a speedboat that will take you straight to the jetty port. Di na kelangan mahassle sa bangka. Haha! The best part about staying there was I got to take home their toiletries. L'Occitane baby!!!! :) hahaha! I think I brougt home enough stash to last me a month. Lol!

So, am back home. Back to work. It was a quick but fun getaway.  My mind's still in vacay mode.

Boracay Day 2

Woke up extra early so I can swim before the sun is at its hottest. Had breakfast and fruitshake by the beach. Weather was perfect for picture-taking. Hehe.

Around 3pm, I attended an all-white party at the roof deck of a hotel on top of the mountain. Had to ride a trike to go up. Twas a scaryyyyy ride because the eoad was too steep!  Had lotsa fun at the party. One of the guys from the party introduced me to cranberry + vodka! Sarap! It's now my #2 favorite poison. Of course, San Mig Pale still tops my list. Haha!

They served crustinis, nachos and fois gras. Ndi ako nabusog kasi ndi naman ako sanay sa pagkaing sosyal. Lol! Party ended at around 9pm so I asked my friends if we can have dinner somewhere where there is rice and lotsa meat. Hehe. Ended up eating at Cafe Del Mar.

My friends still wanted to go out and party but I decided to call it a night. I guess Im turning into a lola. Lol! I'd rather sleep than spend the entire night dancing and mingling and drinking.

It's either that or I drank too much cranberry + vodka. :)

Boracay Day 1

Spent it just holed up in my hotel room. Found a new, decent and affordable place in Station 2. Just watched tv, caught up on sleep and ate the whole day. I work like a horse so it's nice to just do nothing even for once. Haha!

My Favorite Place

They serve the best fish fillet in the world. I forgot what they call it on the menu. Anyway, food's great plus they serve the best free popcorn while you wait for your order.

Plus points for the ambience too. Has a relaxing view of the golf course. Puro green lang makikita mo, haha!

When I'm tired and stressed out, i go here. Since I'm stressed out every week, halos every weekend din ako andito. Lol.

iSurvived!

It has been a very long and tiring week at work, not to mention super stressful too! But I ended the week with a very big smile because the presentation that my team has been preparing for for the past week has turned out really well!

Our director was very happy with how things turned out. Yehey! :)) (A happy boss = a happy work life!)

This is seriously the best team, ever! :) Hehe

It's nice to work with a passionate and dedicated bunch.

My lovely girls.

LOL! - This is what stress can do to you.

Have a great weekend everyone! :))

Whew!

Studying/Preparing for a presentation with the big bosses this Friday.
Creating a draft for a wedding that I'll be hosting in a couple of weeks.
Playing FruitNinja on the side. Still trying to break my own record.
Semi-facebooking.
Catching up with a friend on Viber.
Thinking of what to eat/cook for dinner.

Multi-tasking at its best. (It's either that or I have ADHD.)

LOL.

Sight for Sore-eyes

A series of unfortunate events happened to me last week. I got sick in the middle of a very busy and toxic week. It started with a sorethroat then a day after, it turned into a full-blown flu. I had fever and colds. And then the day after that, I had sore eyes!!! Ugh!

It was soooo uncomfortable to work with both eyes swollen (had to conceal it by wearing shades the whole time). But there were reports to finish and quotas to be met. Sigh. And then a friend wanted to set me up on a blind date. On top of that, my childhood friends organized a reunion last Friday and a send-off party for one of our friends last Sunday. Grabe.

I have a bad habit of pushing myself (both mind and body) to the limit, sometimes to the point of exhaustion. Tsk.

I ended up doing only the things that were work-related. Hehe. I bailed out on the rest. I feel bad for doing it kaso ndi na talaga kaya ng katawan ko. I had a very long and relaxing sleep last weekend.  I just ate and slept and watched dvd.  I feel so much better now.

This time I can also focus on my social life. Lol. Work-life balance.

Hahaha. Yeah right.

Less is more? Hahaha

I am not feeling well today so I am just in bed the whole time.  And to entertain myself, I've just been downloading stuff online, playing alternately between Fruit Ninja and Text Twist, reading an e-book of Darkly Dreaming Dexter and surfing the net.  Yes, I do all these things simultaneously because I have ADHD. Hahaha! I cannot seem to focus on just one thing at any given time.

So while I was browsing the net, I saw this funny slogan and it made me laugh.  And you know what, it has a ring of truth to it.

I should know. I have small boobies. LOL!

They remember the very basic details like what clothes I was wearing or how infectious my laughter was. Most of the time, it's the sparkle in my eyes that register in their memory.

Now I know why. Hahahahahaha! :)

Anyway, since the focus is always on my eyes (because there's nothing worth seeing from the neck down, LOL!), I decided to get me some eyelash extensions.  It was a painful 1-hour process of glue-ing the lashes on my lids one by one!!!! Actually, ndi masakit yung procedure kase dinidikit lang naman yung lashes pero ang masakit is yung glue na gamit. Ang hapdddiiiii! I was crying non-stop while the procedure was going on.

After the procedure was done, I felt like I was Betty Boop (minus the boobs).  My eyelashes were so long and full, I can use it to sweep the floor! AHAHAHAHAHAHA! :)

The only downside to having eyelash extensions is that I cannot sleep on my stomach because it might ruin the form of the lashes. But other than that, I like that I always look put-together even when I do not have make-up on. Pag gising mo pa lang, parang pa-party ka na agad. LOL!

It has been over a month since I had it done and a few lashes have already fallen out.  I haven't had time the past couple of days to go back and have it re-filled. (Hahaha, parang softdrinks lang.)

Have a great start of the week everyone! :))

Past is past

P.S. Ang tripod ay hindi patungan ng kamay. LOL.

I like taking pictures of myself when I'm bored.  And then I like to edit it to make it appear black-and-white. Like this one.

Instagram is my best friend. Hehehe.

Or sometimes sepia. Like this one.

I like it because it gives a vintage touch to my photos.  Parang blast from the past. LOL. Speaking of the past, I had a run-in with an old flame a week ago (or was it two?). We ended up having early breakfast together and we caught up on each other's lives.

There was no spark anymore but it was nice to see that he was doing great. It was like meeting an old friend.

Hmmmmm, I wonder who I'd run into next. :)

Where To Go?

As much as I like going out with my friends, there are days when I want to be by myself. Like today. I want to go out for brunch or early dinner by my sexy lonesome. LOL.

I like having my "ME" time because it helps me relax and regroup.  I am up to my neck with work during weekdays that's why I thrive on weekends to just enjoy and let loose.

I went out with a couple of friends last night and I silently cringed when the topic of the night turned to work! Waaaaaaaaaaa! I do not want to hear rants about work during weekends. I want to talk about other stuff like life, current events, showbiz even. Hahahahaha!

I want my weekend to be as stress-free and rant-free as possible. So today, I will have a date with myself and just drown myself with food and my own stress-free thoughts.

Hmmmmmmm, where to go? So help me Google.

Hope you are all having a stress-free weekend as well. Mwah! :)
