Ang Hot Air Balloon Festival (Na Walang Hot Air Balloon!)

A couple of weeks back, my friend mentioned that there was going to be a Hot Air Balloon Festival in Clark.  She wanted us to go along with the rest of our other gal pals.  We all said yes and we even checked the schedule of activities online so we can be there early.

We planned to start the day veryyyyy early since the balloon take-off will be at 5:30AM.  But of course, since we were turtle-slow, the original time of 3AM was moved to 4:30AM!!!!! So that gives us an hour to get to Clark from Fairview! WTF? So anyway, off we went to NLEX to try and see if we can still make it in time for the hot air balloon exhibition.

We didn't stop for breakfast because we do not want to be late. LOL. It was a good thing that my friend brought junk food. It was our saving grace.

The drive was good until we reached Clark! It was bumper to bumper traffic!!!!!! It was already close to 6AM and the balloons already took off! We would not be able to see it up close if we stay in the car and wait for the traffic to subside.

So what's the next best thing than be stuck in this madness? Get out of the car and take pictures of what's left of the hot air balloons! Hahahahahaha!

Me and my bestfriend! :)

We took pictures right outside the fence because there was a long line in the entrance!!! Baka by the time na makapasok na kame, wala nang hangin ang mga lobo! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! So inavail na namen ang picture picture!

By the time that we were able to get a good parking space and were able to go inside the exhibition area, wala na yung mga hot air balloons! LOL! :)) Buti nalang may mga ibat iba pang kaganapan doon. Hehe. So pwede na din. Hehe. And oh, I forgot to mention... it was soooooo hotttt! Had I known that it would be super hot that day, I would've lathered sunblock all over.

Ayan, best in bukaka ako. Ang init kase eh. Hehehehe!

The Retards.

It's a very gloomy Monday... overcast sky + cold air makes up for bed weather!!!!!! I'll go back and sleep some more. I will continue my blogpost tomorrow. Hehe.

Have a great Mondayyyyyy everyone! Keep your dispositions sunny despite the weather! :)

Mwah mwah!

My Life is One Big GAG Show!

If my life were a tv show, 1/4 of it would be like a primetime drama-serye and 3/4 comedy/gag show (think Bubble Gang-slash-Wow Mali!).

And here's a good example:

I went to the hospital yesterday and here's how my conversation with the doctor went ---

Doctor : So, eto ang irereseta ko sayo, okay?
Khaye : Doc, super nahihilo talaga ako and para akong laging matutumba pag yan ang iniinom ko. *insert sad face*
Doctor : Ganyan talaga iha, konting tiis lang.
Khaye : (trying to find a work-around) Doc, feeling ko ndi talaga ko hiyang sa gamot na yan eh. Wala na po bang ibang pwedeng inumin instead na yan?
Doctor : Actually, meron. Hindi ka mahihilo dito. Pero ang side-effect nito, mabibingi ka. Ano ba mas gusto mo, mabingi or mahilo?
Khaye : (trying to suppress my laughter) Ahm, doc, tiisin ko nalang po yung hilo. =)

Hehehehe.

Have a great week ahead!

Istapegi

I love to cook (i just don't like washing the dishes afterwards, hahaha) but I don't like to cook for one. Feeling ko it's impractical - waste of time, energy and gas (ang mahal na ng gas noh!). I do a bit of cooking on weekdays but most of the time, it's either fastfood or food from our office pantry. Hehe.

That's why I always look forward to our Sunday lunches at my parents' house because that's the only time that I get to experience real home-cooked meals.  Perfect attendance kameng magkakapatid yesterday, good job! Hahaha! And as always, my mom cooked a hearty lunch for us. Yehey!

Thank you Lord for the gift of family!

My lovely sisters =)

I feel so busog and blessed. Hee! :)

(And my favorite part of all - lagi akong may take-out! HAHAHAHAHA!)

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Sinful

I am a rice-lover. I eat rice with anything!  If rice were a man, I'd ask him to marry me. Twice. LOL. I bet we'd make a great pair!

When I'm out on dates and they ask where I want to eat, my staple answer is "Anywhere where there's plenty of rice!". HAHAHAHA. I used to consume 2-3cups of rice per meal.  But since I am not getting any younger, I decided to cut it down to one.

And since November, I switched to brown rice. They say it's healthier. I don't know if it's true pero wala lang, gusto ko lang maki-uso. Haha.

Pero enough of all this health shit because last night I had rice + wagyu + bacon for dinner! Now I know how an orgasm feels like! *insert evil laugh*

Do you guys have any new foodie finds that are sinfully delish? Please share them with me so I can try.

Time Out

I need to take a breather.

Sometimes I wish life had a pause button.

Absent

I didn't go to work today because I'm not feeling well.  I feel like my head's going to explode plus I'm having menstrual cramps. (LOL, too much info).  I just feel soooooooo exhausted! I wasn't able to rest during the  weekend because I did alot of errands here and there.

(pic credit: google)

So here I am, sick and reeking of Vicks and efficascent oil! :) Hehehe.  I feel like my whole body's in pain so what I did earlier was I splashed efficascent oil all over my body. Ginawa kong lotion. HAHAHAH! Sarap! I smell like a hawt lola! Weet weew.

Since I have plenty of downtime today, I used that as an opportunity to start wrapping some of my Christmas presents. And by wrapping I mean putting them inside the gift pouch. LOL! Hindi kase ko marunong mag giftwrap. Good thing I saw these plastic gift boxes. Wala kase talaga kong ka-art art sa katawan.

Yehey! At least kahit absent ako today, productive pa rin kahit papano. Hahaha!  I just wish I'll feel alot better by tomorrow so I can go back to work. I hate skipping work because the load piles up too fast even if I'm only gone for a day. Aguy!

And because I was just home all day, I did nothing but rest and watch news on TV.

Maybe I just don't have a compassionate heart pero ndi talaga ko naaawa sa kanya kanina when I saw her on TV. Hay life.

Grabe, it's been 3 weeks since I last posted. I can already see cobwebs forming on my blog. Hahaha!

So, what have you guys been up to recently?

So this is how a "Barker" feels like....

What is a "Barker"?

Here's what Wikipedia has to say ---
barker is a person who attempts to attract patrons to entertainment events, such as a circus or funfair, by exhorting passing public,[1] describing attractions of show and emphasizing variety, novelty, beauty, or some other feature believed to incite listeners to attend entertainment.
The pinoy-version of a "Barker" is one who stations himself near where the public utility vehicles are (ie jeepneys and buses) and calls the attention of passengers. Yung mga tipong sisigaw ng "Kyaaaaaaaaaaappppooooooooooooo" or "Kuuubbbbaaaawwww" or "Onting usog dyan, sampu-an yan!" Ganyan. Hehe.

So what does that have to do with me? Pinasok ko na rin ba ang pagbabarker? HAHAHAHAHA! Well, not really.... but I now understand how a barker feels like after a longggggggg day of shouting and yelling and vocal chords-stretching. Haha.

Read on.

I hosted a party at the Fort earlier this afternoon.  The party was at 3pm but I was there an hour early because I need to prepare all the stuff that I need to use.

It was a Hello Kitty-themed party but I didn't have anything pink in my closet and I cannot grow whiskers overnight (LOL) so I opted to wear something lace-y and girly.

Everything was alright except for the sound system.  The music was sucky and the microphone was not functioning!!!!!!!!! One of my pet-peeves as a host is when I am not given a good sound system.  It's easier to get your message across when you're clearly heard by the crowd, especially when majority of the crowd's composed of 6-years-old kids with short attention spans. Hahahahaha!

But of course the show must go on. There are people who were 'born with a silver spoon', and there are those who were 'born with a built-in microphone'.  Fortunately (or unfortunately? haha), I belong to the latter.

Parang lahat ng litid ko lumabas this afternoon! Hahahahaha! I had to keep my voice loud and clear and fun to get everyone's attention. Kalowka. But it was still an awesome party despite the slight technical booboos! The kids and adults alike had so much fun especially when I asked them to play musical chairs! Hahaha.

But seriously, it was a bit stressful to shout for a couple of hours straight.  Now I totally get how barkers feel like after a long day of work... Or wives who scream endlessly at their philandering husbands.... Or football fans who cheer and yell for their team during Super Bowl... Or bosses who scream because they've been given the wrong report... LOL! Nakakapagod sumigaw, pramis. Hehe.

I'm wishing you all a very serene, yell-free Sunday! :) Hehehe!

Sunday's Best

One of my best childhood memories is going to church every Sunday.  My mom would wake us up early so we can hear mass before lunch.  I am not a religious person but I've come to love our Sunday ritual because it involved sharing precious time with my siblings and my parents.  I can still remember those times after mass when I would pester my dad to buy me those colored chicks that were being sold outside the church, hahaha.  My usual Sunday requests were either that or one big balloon! Those were the highlight of my Sundays!

When I got a little older, my requests have evolved from chicks to fishes! I would always ask my dad to buy those little colorful ones or those fishes that had big eyes.  I always look forward to Sundays because after hearing mass and fish-hunting, we'd always end it with a hearty lunch in the mall.  We'd share stories and laughter over food.  Ultimate bonding at its best!

When I was already in my teens and no longer cared for colorful chicks or big-eyed fishes, I still loved going to  church with them because I've developed a deeper appreciation of what the whole ritual is and everything that it represents.

Many years later.. my siblings got married and had families of their own and me? .. well, I've started living a life of my own, too! Hehehe.  Since then, our Sunday rituals have become few and far between.  We still try our best to get in the swing of things but it's not the same as before.  We don't live under the same roof anymore so it's hard to get everyone together.

 L O V E

It's been awhile since we've all gotten together na walang absent. Hehe. (Ako usually ang absent.)  I still spend time with each one of them but I just miss those times when we'd bond together as a complete family.  I miss our Sunday rituals.  I miss them.  I miss being with them.

What were your days like when you were little?  Share!

Demonyo Ka!

Can't think of a good title. Sorry, hehe.

I've had a very busy week at work. I was counting the days till the weekend because I cannot wait to jump in bed to just sleep and vegetate! But of course, my weekend didn't go as planned because I had a hosting raket last night. Hehe.

I was really tired and sluggish because I barely had enough sleep this week. Thankfully, my friend drove me all the way to Ayala Alabang. I was able to take a nap on the way to the party.

The party was set at 6pm but I was there by 4:30 to help set the place up.

I placed little skulls and skeletons in the garden for my Treasure Hunt game! Had to do it before the guests arrive of course. Sneaky! :)

The windows were covered in black poster paper and most of the bulbs inside the house were changed to red and orange. I changed into my halloween costume and by 6pm, everything was all set.

Red devil's horn + skulls and chain + gold studded booties = Halloween garb

It was such a fun event because the kids and adults alike came in costume! Kakaaliwwww!

Merong Yoko Ono and John Lennon, Angry Birds, Spiderman, Batman, Krueger, Cleopatra, Hulk, Cow at kung ano ano pa!  My client's peg last night was 'Katy Perry'... sssoooo cute!

I taught basic dance steps to the kids and when they were already familiar with the steps, I asked the parents to watch us perform. Tuwang-tuwa naman sila. Hehehe. Feeling ko dancer ako nung past life ko, hahaha. (ambisyosa)

The kids got hungry after the dance so we paused for a short break. Afterwards, we started playing Halloween party games!

It was a very fun Halloween party!

It was such a long night that I fell asleep as soon as I got home! Whew!

At least I still have the rest of Sunday to sleep and relax! Yehey!

How'd your weekend go?

Ayan Kase

Our office sends out email alerts everytime there is a storm that's coming to the country.  I was well aware that a storm was coming yesterday so when I received a call from a client asking me to host a Luau Party, I begged off. Aside from that, I wasn't really feeling well. But they were very persistent so I ended up saying yes. Waaaaah!

I was at The Fort yesterday despite the storm.  It was a good thing that the party was held at the 28th floor so I had no reason to get paranoid about getting flooded.

Grass skirts and garlands were given at the entrance. And because it was a Luau party, it was mandatory that I teach the girls how to do the hula. (I sucked by the way, hahahaha!)

But I really did an awesome job in teaching them how to do the Hawaiian dance.

And I taught them how to do arts and crafts as well. It was super fun!

When I got home, may lagnat na ko. Maybe because I was tired and I got rained on a little. Hayyyyyy!!!!

Next Up: Someone got me to organize a Bridal Shower. Kaaliw. Almost everything's set na except for the strippers! LOL. May kilala kayo? Hahahaha.

Have an awesome weekend everyone!

Stormy Tuesday!

I left work early because the weather's really bad.  The rain was tolerable but the wind was ferocious! My lovable brother sent me the cutest SMS just when I was about to go home- "Sis, lakas ng hangin! Maglagay ka ng hollow blocks sa bulsa mo baka liparin ka sa payat mo! Text me when you're home na."

When I got home, the power was out! It was a good thing that I had my laptop fully charged and I have a few candles in stock.  So here I am on a stormy Tuesday, eating goto with egg while watching Horrible Bosses on my computer.  Hehe!

Keep safe and dry people!!!!!

Kwentong Barbero

When I get extremely sad and frustrated, the first thing I want to do is go to the salon and get a haircut.  Maybe because it's my way of (figuratively) cutting the bad omen that's happening in my life. There were a few times where I had my hair cut just for the sake of.  But most of the time, it was because I was going through a bad phase and I felt like I wanted to cut the bad streak.

I had my hair chopped off last year. I was going through some shitty times and I want to start anew.  So what better way to do it than to start with a new look, right?

So here I was Christmas of last year with my short hair.  To me, a haircut is more than just a haircut.  It is my way of cutting ties with the bad things that's holding me down.  It is my way of disconnecting.  It is my way of starting anew.  Of seeing things in a different light.  It is my way of starting fresh.

I learned to focus on the things that truly matter. I reconnected with people who really care. I focused on my work. I focused on my family.  And everything feels lighter and better now.

I was brushing my hair in front of the mirror the other day and it just dawned on me how long my hair is now compared to what it was 9 months ago.  I feel blessed that life hasn't given me reasons to cut my hair anew. Hehehe.

I wish you all a happy week ahead!

Pagoda

I took a day off from work yesterday.  Ran a few errands and then spent the afternoon bonding with my parents. Did a bit of shopping for my mom too. Grabe, ang mahal ng shoes nya. Parang ndi muna ko kakaen ng 4 months. Hahahaha. Pero okay lang, priceless naman yung saya nya. :)

And then I spent the evening bonding with a friend.  We had a good massage. Sarap! I slept during the rub-down and when I woke up, I felt rejuvenated. Yey!

After the massage, my friend and I had dinner somewhere in Quezon City. I was wearing blue maong shorts and a blue shirt yesterday and to my surprise, the waitresses in the restaurant were also wearing the same thing. HAHAHAHAHA!

Kalurks.

Have a great weekend everyone!

The Raket Diaries: Cafe Puccini

Have you guys seen Cars 2 yet? If you still haven't, make it your number 1 mission this coming weekend! Disney Pixar didn't disappoint. I don't like watching animated films, especially when it's in 3D because I get a mild headache after. (Probinsyana kase ko, ndi sanay sa 3D glasses, lol.) But because it's from Disney, and it's Cars, I don't mind getting a little buzz-ed.

A couple of weekends back, I hosted a party in Cafe Puccini in the Fort.  It was the birthday of this cute little boy named Samou. The whole cafe was closed to give way to his birthday party and because they were Japanese, they just want to downplay the decorations. They just asked for yellow and white balloons to be placed in each table. Simple but cute.

They prepared Cars-themed prizes and loot bags for the kids.

The kids were too cute! They were mostly Japanese so it's a good thing that I speak Japanese Ingrish. Hahahahaha!

I am resting from my hosting rakets for awhile because sometimes I do back-to-back parties on weekends, wala nang time para mag rest. Baka mamatay ako ng maaga, ahahahaha! But I miss it. I miss seeing the smile on the kid's faces. I miss playing with them. Withdrawal syndrome ata tawag nila dito. Or sign of aging? Hehehe!

Happy Monday people!

Suggestions Please?

I came home early from work because I need to finish a school project that's due this week. But instead of working on it the minute I got home, I found myself in front of my laptop checking what movies to download in Torrent. Hehe. So here's what's currently on my list -

1. 3 Idiots
2. Shawshank Redemption
3. Limitless
4. Fast 5
5. Bad Teacher

What are your favorite movies? Maybe I can get ideas from you guys. I'm running out of books to read that's why I'm stocking up on good movies that I can watch this coming weekend.

(Please no Harry Potters or LOTRs. Lol!)

Help!!!!!

Thank you! :)

Weekend Tales: CERCHIO GRILL and LOUNGE

I love vegetables. There are days when I crave for nothing but veggies. My favorite vegetables are OKRA (because it is slimy when you pop it! It reminds me of something, haha!), AMPALAYA (because it is bitter and long and it has cute jagged ridges! Again, it reminds me of something, LOL!) and POTATOES. Speaking of potato, here's my favorite patatas joke of all time --

Two wives are buying vegetables in the palengke:
Wife 1: Mare, pag nakakakita ako ng potato, naiisip ko itlog ng mister ko!
Wife 2: Bakit? Ganyan ba kalaki?
Wife 1: Hindi! Ganyan siya kadumi!

I have a new addition to my list of favorite veggies - The CUCUMBER! Wait, is cucumber a vegetable? I don't feel like googling about it today but I'm almost (Operative word: ALMOST, lol)  sure that it is classified as a vegetable. Hehe.

Cool as Cucumber - P95

I went to this restaurant that serves the coolest Cucumber concoction! And the drink is aptly called - "Cool as Cucumber". It's a mixture of anything and everything nice. Hahahaha! (Wala akong kwenta magdescribe noh? LOL)

The name of the restaurant is CERCHIO. It's in Tomas Morato - right at the corner where Don Hen is located.

I honestly do not know how it is pronounced because I never bothered to ask any of the waiters. Hmmmm... Anyway, I am no designer but I like the interior of the place. There arent alot of visual distractions in the restaurant so you can focus on your food, your date or whoever it is that you're with, hehe!

Minimalist Appeal

Here's what I ordered --

Pork Sisig - P230

Ang walang kamatayang Sisig. BOW. I liked how they plated the sisig. It was served in a bunch of three and each had a sunny-side-up quail egg on top! Hehehehe! I like my sisig crunchy and dry so I was a bit bummed out when I tasted mayonnaise in their sisig. It still tasted good but it would have tasted better sans the mayo.

Next up, KARE-KARE! Their Kare-kare more than made up for my not-so-heartening-sisig-experience.  There are only three ways I want to die

(1) I want to die peacefully in my sleep
(2) death by erotic asphyxiation
(3) I want to die by eating too much of this Kare-kare.

Yes, that's how much I loved their Kare-kare! Buwis-buhay ang lasa! Hahahaha! The peanut sauce was not too sweet and the pork and towels (tuwalya, haha!) were super tenderrrrr!

Grilled Kare-kare - P450

There are still alot of other interesting food to try in their menu, unfortunately, my stomach can only hold so much wonderful gastronomic treats. But I will be back for sure. Again. And Again. Hehe.

And oh, last but not the least, they get 1,000 pogi points for having a big and clean restroom. =)

If you guys want to try it out, here's their address :

CERCHIO GRILL and LOUNGE
#76 Scout Limbaga Street
T. Morato, Quezon City

Have a happy weekend!!!!!
